About Me

I am passionate about experiencing and facilitating personal growth and wellbeing. I bring my broad spiritual and creative interests to the area of addictions, compulsivity, emotional difficulty and relationship challenge.

MY QUALIFICATIONS

I gained a distinction Masters in Addiction Psychology and Counselling. I did my research on the link between Attachment Theory and Addiction. I have attended a comprehensive course in the treatment of Anorexia, Bulimia, Compulsive Eating and Obesity at the National Centre for Eating Disorders. I have recently attended courses on incorporating Mindfulness into therapeutic practice, on the treatment of sexual trauma, and on whole-body Focusing.

MY EXPERIENCE

Since 2005 I have worked at three prominent addictions treatment centres – Promis, Farm Place and the Roehampton Priory – and at the latter I facilitated cross-discipline collaboration between the addictions and the eating disorder programmes. I have also worked at The Recovery Centre in Chelsea, The Arrigo Programme in Glastonbury, co-facilitated Spirituality Retreat weekends, and lead groups exploring masculine identity, as well as leading meditation groups.

CURRENT EMPLOYMENT

Since moving from London to Bristol I have been working in local community settings. At the Swan Project – a counselling service providing low cost long-term therapy – I conduct assessments and co-run an alcohol support group. At Kinergy – a sexual abuse survivors service – I co-facilitate a weekly therapy group for male survivors of sexual abuse.
